Bench-Boss Sangria

4 oz. Gretzky Cherry Hibiscus Simple Syrup
4 oz. Gretzky Red Cask Whisky 
1/4 cup of dark sweet cherries
1 sliced orange
16 oz. Gretzky Merlot 
Optional liquid smoke

Method: Add cherries and a few orange slices to a large mason jar or measuring cup. Add syrup and whisky and muddle generously (feel free to blend if easier). Once muddled or blended, use a fine mesh strainer to strain out the liquid from the fruit mash. Add strained liquid to a large mason jar and top with Gretzky Merlot. Add a few orange slices and cherries, and a few drops of liquid smoke if you have it on hand. Seal the jar, shake it, and store it in the fridge until your ready to enjoy it. Cheers!

Cocktail recipe:
1/2 oz. Gretzky Old Fashioned Simple Syrup 
1 oz. Cab Franc Icewine 
2 oz. Whisky Barrel Red
Pinch of clove
 
Method: Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice. Shake until chilled and strain into chilled coupe or ice-wine glass. Garnish with a pinch of clove on top.

Bright garnet in colour with a fruit forward bouquet of ripe blue plum, black cherry, sweet spice, and a hint of violet and vanilla.

Perfect for the deserving host who enjoys white wine or a holiday gift exchange.

Ingredients:
2 oz. Rhubarb Syrup  
2 oz. Rhubarb Tea 
2 oz. Red Cask Whisky 
½ tsp dry ginger or 1 slice of fresh ginger 
1 oz. Lemon Juice 
 
Method:
Muddle ginger 
Add all ingredients to a shaker and double strain  
Shake until chilled  
Run lemon around outer rim of glass and coat with sugar 
Garnish with a slice of ginger  
Pour martini or coupe glass 
Try using egg white or vegan foamer to froth up this cocktail and give it a creamier mouth feel.

Clear, medium ruby colour; aromas of raspberry and cherry; dry and medium bodied; flavours of dark cherry, earth, spice, oak with a medium acidity that brightens the fruit character followed by a medium, fruity finish.

Aromas of baked apple and lanolin, dry with medium acid. Pear and floral flavours followed by a creamy finish.

A full-bodied and firm Cabernet Franc with wonderful flavours of blackberry, spice, coffee bean, and oak mingle on the palate. Classic Ontario Cabernet Franc that is dry and smooth with an aromatic bouquet. Pair with grilled meats, roasted red pepper, lamb stews, chilli, short ribs and sauteed mushrooms.

A rich and complex Sauvignon Blanc with a bouquet and flavours of citrus, apple, tropical fruit, spice and oak.

A smooth richly flavoured red with plenty of dark fruits, sweet spice and oak notes. A great festive red wine perfect for family gatherings, date night and winter comfort foods.

Clear, bright lemon yellow colour; aromas of yellow apple, ripe pear, tropical fruit and sweet lemon; dry and medium bodied; flavours of tropical fruit, apple, pear and citrus accented by a touch of oak and vanilla. This smooth yet refreshing wine finished with flavours of citrus and green apple.

Tasting NotesThis is a traditional Chianti Classico from one of the original founders of the Consorzio del Vino Chianti Classico. Red ruby colour with purplish reflections in its youth. Intense scent, rich in fruity aromas as cherry and blackberry, well integrated with floral notes of red rose. Codorniu Clasico Brut Cava - Penedès, Spain

With a family history going back to 1551, Codorniu has been at the forefront of fine sparkling wines in Spain. Pale lemon colour, with a fine mousse. Aromas of baked apple and lemon zest, with bready and yeasty notes in the background. Dry, with lively acidity and flavours of citrus and baked apple.
